The main purpose of the institute is to teach people about the culture of the U.S. and to serve as a liaison between the two countries. They offer English language courses to adults and children, hold seminars, festivals, movies, and special exhibits. There is a business center which holds business English classes, gives workshops on resumé writing and finding a job in the U.S., and provides cultural resources for companies. Another feature of the institute is its library, the only public English-language library in the region.
