(peterskirche)

St. Peter's Church is the oldest church in Heidelberg, and was built sometime during the 12th century, although there is no documentation as to exactly when. The church is in the process of being renovated, so it is not open to the public at this time. The last time it underwent major renovations was in the late 1400’s. Outside the church is an old cemetery, with tombstones dating over five centuries old, and an oak tree which was planted in 1883 on the 400th birthday of Martin Luther.
