Intended to be a farewell gift to the city of Heidelberg from the Heidelberg Conservatory of Music when they moved to Mannheim in 1971, the Chamber Music Festival is now a regular part of the cultural life of the region. The festival, with performances in January and June, now enjoys a regionally prestigious reputation, and no wonder – it offers something for every lover of classical music. Concerts in all fields from the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts are performed by students and university professors alike.
