long night of museums in heidelberg

March 21, 2009, from 7:00 pm - 2:00 am

The Long Night of the Museums in Mannheim, Ludwigshafen and Heidelberg is, after Berlin, the largest event of its kind in Germany. Over 100 museums, galleries, artist studios and cultural organizations will open their doors for this long night of culture and entertainment.

Large museums and small galleries will show off their latest exhibits, readings, installations and performances will take place throughout the three cities and stages filled with dancers and musicians will be popping up in unusual places. There will also be children's events earlier on during the day.

As an added bonus, the local public transportation system (VRN) and special Long Night buses and train lines (including the historical trams) are free of charge for those enjoying the Long Night of the Museums.

Tickets may be purchased at participating locations.
